November25 is the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and the beginning of #16Days of Activism campaign against gender-based violence.
Yesterday, UN Women Nigeria in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs launched the #16Days campaign. The theme for this year is #orangetheworld: Fund, Respond, Prevent and Collect!".
During the event, #IDeyWithHer campaign, tailored after the Spotlight Initiative's #WithHer campaign, was also launched with support from the European Union under the global Spotlight Initiative.
The #IDeyWithHer campaign seeks to raise awareness of gender norms and harmful stereotypes that perpetuate violence against women and girls. It also aims to create awareness of the #ShadowPandemic ravaging Nigeria & demand urgent collective action from Govt + key stakeholders towards addressing it.
